Ana Mendieta (1948–1985), regarded as one of the most significant artists of the postwar era, produced a distinctive body of work that includes drawings, installations, performances, photographs, and sculptures. Covered in Time and History, on view at the Katherine E. Nash Gallery, examines Mendieta’s less well known but prolific production of short films. Twenty-one of her original films have been newly preserved and digitized for the exhibition. Each film is represented in the exhibition’s catalogue through still images and detailed descriptions.
